Festival
- St Leonard’s Festival 2008
- Looking along from the Pier
- Festival Crowd 2009
As a planned annual event the festival will continue to unite the community and celebrate the diverse yet connected community and the reasons we all came here.
Having run our event now for four years to celebrate and explore the history of the area from early explorers to settlement through to the current day, we were able to increase awareness and understanding of the early days of our community.
We will continue to add further elements of Heritage to allow continued growth of peoples understanding each year.
As the traditional start to the camping season, the Melbourne Cup weekend is an ideal time to celebrate the town’s heritage, with a significant number of people who are now either permanent residents or have homes here starting their engagement with the town as foreshore campers as many as 30 years ago. These people came from (and still do), Melbourne and western country Victoria (e.g. Ballarat) as well as Geelong.
