The St Leonards Festival
WHEN: Saturday 30th October 2010
The St Leonards Festival now in its fourth year, is held on the
Saturday of the Melbourne Cup Weekend on the main street of the town.
The Bellarine Art Show is also on in the town over the same weekend,
which we support with shuttle buses all day Saturday.
2009 St Leonard's Festival
We are focused on showcasing what St Leonards has to offer from local
artist and entertainers to local produce and craft, as well as trying
to include all community organisations in the festival. Another
important part of our plan is to showcase the history of our town and
region through photos and displays.
This year we need to build on the success of last year’s Festival,
and continue to focus on a more sustainable ongoing marketing position
for St Leonards. I.e. celebrating the town for what it is
“a seaside village with a great relaxed feel and strong heritage links”
This years Festival will add to last years success with
- Continued cooperation with the Bellarine Art Show
- a strong stage entertainment programme including local and school bands, and cultural dance troups
- local traders and businesses providing a food court atmosphere
- a continued and improved Heritage element with an improved “on this site” walking tour
- an array of local produce (Mussels/Honey/Beer/Wine/Olive Oil)
- increased community groups participation CFA/Neighborhood Watch/Sporting Clubs etc
- a giant Foreshore market
- displays of vintage and classic cars from all around Geelong
- boating displays
- the 3rd annual family fishing competition
…all adding up to a significant reason to be in St Leonards on Melbourne Cup weekend.
